Using RDT's VersaNet to open and close hoppers feeding quarry lorries with stone and aggregate.

At a large quarry it was recognised that the driver getting out of his cab to activate the hopper filling his truck with stone, was not only a time consuming exercise, but also a very dangerous one.

A quarry VersaNet has been utilised to provide the driver with an interface within the cab so he can simply press the appropriate button to activate the appropriate hopper. There are a number of hoppers in use, each containing different stone types/grades, so a single master station in the cab communicates with several outstations at each hopper.

The end result is a more efficient and more importantly, a safer process.
