Wireless Modem Applications

The Starchaser Foundation, together with RDT are not only chasing stars, it’s about to reach them.  The most recent and very successful launches of the SHARP and Starchaser-Discovery rockets in Morecambe Bay, is proof that the RDT RM9600 radio modem series is cutting edge technology.

Using radio modems to link a weather station on the summit of Mount Snowdon to the World Wide Web.

At Snowdon's summit there is a weather station which is connected to a data logger. A Radio Modem was installed at the summit which was interfaced with this data logger.

Using Radio Modems to link data loggers monitoring piezoelectric sensors to ensure the stability of a dam adjacent to the new M60 extension (Manchester Ring Road).

Monitoring the position of the dam supporting Audenshaw Impounding Reservoir was very important to the constructors of the final section of the M60- Manchester Ring Road.

RDT have been supplying Dambach for a number of years with Radio Modems for remote control of their variable message signs. When installing signs, such as for car park information systems around town centres, it is often far more convenient and cost effective to use radio rather than laying miles of cable.

RDT have been pleased to work with Precimation, developing a special version of the RM9600 Radio Modem to operate on the buses, at the bus stops and at central control. Systems using this technology have been supplied to several countries.
