buoy with open caseYorkshire Water utilising the flexibility of VersaNet2 to save time, money and increase the range of radio.

With over 300 VersaNet nodes already in operation, Yorkshire water are able to fully appreciate the versatility of VersaNet.

Expanding systems is one of the many features of VersaNet and a proposed scheme in the Whitby area will really benefit.

Initially a simple point to point link was installed between Ugthorpe and Sneaton Castle. More recently a link has been installed between Ruswarp and Esk. Communication is now required between Esk and Sneaton Castle which is possible with minimal hardware additions. Finally there is a need to link Ugglebarmby, Goathland and Randymere.

Unfortunately communication is not possible between either Goathland or Randymere with Ugglebarmby because of a large hill, so an alternative needs to be provided.

It was discovered that Goathland and Randymere can communicate satisfactorily, and that Goathland can communicate with Ugthorpe. As Ugthorpe already communicates with Sneaton Castle then there is a facility there to communicate with Esk. Esk is fairly close to Ugglebarmby thus completing the 'horseshoe'.
