The MiniNet system has been designed to provide simple low cost remote control for digital I/O (on/off switching) or pulse counting over short to medium distances. There are three different versions to suit different application.
The Digital MiniNet system has a base station supporting up to 8 remote out stations. Each out station has 2 digital inputs (volt free contacts) and 1 digital output (relay contacts). The base station has the corresponding 16 relay outputs and 8 volt free inputs. The out stations each have a unique address set by on board DIP switches.
It is possible to use up to 4 systems in an area (within radio range). The base stations operate within their own time slot and the out stations are addressed to communicate with the correct base station.
The Pulse MiniNet system has a base station supporting up to 8 remote out stations. Each out station has a volt free contact for the pulse input. The pulse count is stored in the out station and then transmitted at a pre-set time, programmed by DIP switches. The base station has an open collector output. As an option, there is a battery operated out station available.
It is possible to use up to 4 systems in an area (within radio range). The base stations operate within their own time slot and the out stations are addressed to communicate with the correct base station.
For a very simple system requiring only a single digital switched signal in one direction, two of the out stations can be used, without a base station.
The MiniNet units are supplied with ½ Wave Whip antennas designed to fit directly to the SMA connector on the top of the case. These will typically give a range of about 750 mtrs with a clear line-of-sight. For greater distances an external antenna can be used. Any of the antennas for our RM96XX modem range can be used, but they will require an adaptor or cable tail to interface to the SMA connector on the MiniNet. Contact RDT sales for details.
